University of Ibadan Postgraduate Admission requirements

The University of Ibadan offers three major types of admission; Full-time, part-time and occasional students.

Full-time admission involves admission offered to unemployed candidates only.

Part-time admission is offered to applicants that are employed in the university or can show proof that they have access to adequate facilities for their work, which includes evidence of their employer’s release.

In this case, the applicants have satisfied the least entry requirements to be admitted for a higher degree program and were recommended by the faculty postgraduate committee, they can be admitted as occasional students but they will not be offered a degree from the school.

General requirements

Every applicant should have been a graduate of the University of Ibadan or any other university recognized by the Senate. The Postgraduate School on the recommendation of the suitable Faculty Postgraduate Committee is responsible for the admission.

In the case where a candidate doesn’t have a previous university degree in the desired discipline, he can be admitted into a professional degree of master.

Applicants, who have a recognized research higher degree in the applied discipline, are granted admission into M.Phil. Or Ph.D. degree programs.
