UI DLC latest information on resumption has been specially released from the Director desk  to all  the University of Ibadan’s Distance Learning Centre students amidst the ongoing lockdown nationwide. The information was sent to the school email starting with warmth greetings by the director. Therefore,  I implore every students both returning and newly admitted students to take note of the following information by the director of Unibadan Distance Learning Centre. See below:

SPECIAL NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR’S DESK:  I bring you warm greetings, on behalf the Management and entire staff of the University of Ibadan’s Distance Learning Centre. As you are aware, the 2019/2020 academic session has ended with the conclusion of the Second Semester Examination in the month of February. The Centre’s Management is indeed grateful to you our esteemed learners and stakeholders, for the unflinching support, given to the Centre, in achieving a successful academic session. We are grateful to God for the divine wisdom and enablement that He gave us to sail through successfully.

Consequent upon the need to ensure compliance with the precautionary measures stipulated by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on COVID-19 and adhere to the rules put in place by the Federal Government and the Oyo state government, the Centre’s Computer-Based Testing Centre, offices at the Moroundiya Office Complex, Idi-Ose, Lagos and Bodija will be closed to ALL physical activities from Monday, 30 March, 2020 until further notice. Members of staff who offer critical services have been directed to engage absolutely in the stay at home protective policy.

It is apparent that the need to stay safe in the wake of the pandemic, outweighs every other consideration. Howbeit, the Centre is committed to ensuring that activities are not totally grounded, hence the need to leverage on our online platforms to bridge the gap as much as possible.

We understand that this is a challenging time for us all. The pandemic, which has been ravaging the entire world in the past few months, is undeniably unprecedented. With the partial shutdown of the economy, access to online academic support will be given utmost priority at the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre.

What next:

Just because everyone is social distancing does not mean that learners will be left stranded in their academic pursuit on the distance learning mode of the University of Ibadan. The development has placed a huge demand on us to depict the true ideals of Distance Education at this time. Consequently, the Centre is seriously considering initiating our Academic Online platforms earlier than it should be. E-tutors would be deployed to attend to the academic needs of students in their different fields. You will be duly informed through the UI DLC dedicated email accounts on the modalities to be used in achieving this.

In addition to this, our Learner Support services are being specially revamped as a palliative measure at this crucial time. We are making prompt responses to your enquiries utmost priority, especially issues such as prompt uploading of results as well as access to course materials and registration.

UI DLC Latest Information on Resumption

Resumption Date:

By now, the 2019/2020 academic calendar should have been broadcast. However, for obvious reasons, every activity surrounding the commencement of the new session has been put on hold. Therefore, as distance learners, you are advised to make self-study a lifestyle, as it is the ideal practice on the Open Distance Learning mode of educational delivery. The Centre is working assiduously to populate the portal with Course Materials and while you await the publication, you can download your courses from School Drillers website.  Click here to download course material for your respective department.

School Fees: How much would i pay?

The tuition for the new session has not been reviewed significantly. The payment schedule would be made available as soon as the necessary processes have been concluded. Thereafter, registration guidelines would be released for your information and necessary action.

Outstanding result

The Centre is not unaware of some challenges, on the portal, especially with respect to some outstanding results. This is being looked into. However, the uploading of both outstanding and current results would not be possible until full academic activities resume as these results are domiciled in the different Departments. I, therefore, appeal specially to all our learners to be patient.
