About Benue State Polytechnic

Benue State Polytechnic is a state owned, funded and managed polytechnic located in Benue State, North Central Nigeria. BENPOLY as it is fondly called is managed by the Benue State government and was established in 1976 and since its establishment has been committed to offer quality education in Sciences and vocational education.

The polytechnic is also committed to pushing the frontiers of technology and business education in Nigeria by training her students in theory and practical knowledge via excellent learning materials.

BENPOLY General Admission Requirements

1. Admission Requirements for ND Programme.

All entry into Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo, are strictly on merit, you will need to satisfy the following requirements before you are offered admission;

For Benue State Polytechnic Courses for ND,  a minimum of four credits in the SCCE, General Certificate in Education, NABTEB, NECO and GCE at not more than two sitting, or their equivalence at credit level.

Candidates must score UTME/JAMB cut-off mark of at least 120 in JAMB to be eligible to take part in the admission for the programmes listed above.

Candidates are admitted into National Diploma programme either through the pre-ND programme or directly through JAMB.

In either case, candidates must obtain the required number of credit passes or aggregate and must satisfy the minimum entry requirement for the programme

Candidates must possess a minimum of have (5) O/L Credit Passes in WASC, SSCE, NECO

He/She must have compulsory credit passes in English Language and Mathematics in SSCE to be qualified for admission.

Admission Requirements for HND Programme

For a candidate to be considered for admission in the institution, and to run any Benue State Polytechnic Ugbokolo Courses, at HND level, the following basic requirements must be met;

ND at pass level will be accepted only in exceptional circumstances. Any certificate that the Academic Board deems sufficient would be acceptable.

In addition to National Diploma requirements,

A prospective candidate for Higher National Diploma must possess at least a lower credit (CGPA) of 2.50

Benue State Poly JAMB cut off mark for all courses 2021/2022 academic session is 150 and above.

Therefore, candidates who score up to 150 and above are automatically eligible internal screening exercise, but we must warn you, the higher your JAMB score, the higher your chances of clinching the course registered in your UTME.
