List of African Countries Colonized by Spain highlights the countries in Africa who had once been directly subservient to Spanish rule as French colony. Spain was once colonial master to some African countries which today imbibe and practice its culture, language, and other ways of life through the Spanish colonization.
Spain is the largest country in Southern Europe, the second-largest country in Western Europe and the European Union, and the fourth-largest country by area on the European continent. By the details of history, Spain has a very large Muslim background and as so remains somewhat close to being completely a Muslim country. The fact that it was formerly a Roman colony still makes it home to the little percentage of Christians that live there. These historical outlines of Spain later influenced the African countries which they are recorded to have colonized.

Around 1492 to the 1800s, Spanish explorers were the bullies of the New World along with Britain and France. These European powers selfishly dined and wined on the resources of Africa. This great scramble started immediately after the Berlin Conference where each western power decided on the control of Africa and its countries.
Spain, Britain, France–all took advantages of their mercenary capabilities against the then developing civilization of the African culture. While Britain had a larger number of countries to them, France too did not fail in owning a large colony. Spain, because of the diversity of its colonization background and trade capacity, could not equal those of France and Britain. As a result, it could only advance to the coasts of Morocco, Mauritania, and the routes of Sao Tome.
Here is the list of African Countries Colonized by Spain. There are just two of them.

2. Morocco
Morocco was also the colony of Spain, particularly both the northern and southern parts of the country. These parts constitute Ceuta, Melilla, Peñón de Vélez de la Gomera, and several small Spanish-controlled islands off the coast.
Although Spain began to take control of Morocco since the early 1800s, it was around 1860 that it got provoked to really rouse a war against the whole of Morocco and finally in 1884, Spain created a protectorate in the coastal areas of Morocco, covering the above named parts of the country. Morocco and all its southern and nothern parts have made to the List of African Countries Colonized by Spain.
