The University of Minnesota is offering undergraduate scholarships to international students based on merit and financial need:All international freshmen and transfer students who complete their applications for admission by the deadlines are automatically considered for a Global Excellence Scholarship.
For the academic year, the freshmen scholarships are $10,000 or $5,000 per year for up to four years. Transfer students may receive $5,000 per year for up to three years when entering the University in the Fall semester. Transfer students entering in Spring semester will be considered for scholarships on a funds-available basis. Awards are competitive and based on academic merit. Students selected for awards are among the best in their class and show a record of very strong academic preparation.
There is no separate scholarship application required; students are considered based on an overall assessment of their on-time admission application.
Global Excellence Scholarship At University of Minnesota
Eligibility:
- Be a freshman international applicant admitted to the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. An international applicant is an individual who holds citizenship in a country outside the United States and who does not also possess U.S. citizenship or permanent residency.
- Maintain F-1 immigration status while enrolled at the University of Minnesota.
- Demonstrate interest and initiative in leadership and intercultural learning.
