In talks about who and who are the most educated in the world, we have come to a crossroad of interest about knowing the most educated man in Africa.

Although Africans are known to be some of the best and great number of peoples who are much more interested in proving their flair for education to the western world, there is no doubt that they are not confronted with myriads of challenges and drawbacks that pinch one to want to go back to the drawing and then resolve the ‘WHY’.

Sierra Leonean-American scholar and peace activist Dr. Abdul Karim Bangura, born August 26, 1953, is proudly one of the most educated people in the world boasting of five PhDs to prove!

A well read multilingual fluent in about a dozen African and six European languages, he holds 5 doctorate degrees, has published 66 books and over 600 research papers.

Abilities, Languages, and Skills

Dr. Abdul Karin Bangura is not only the most educated man in Africa but also one of the most educated person in the world. The Sierra Leonean has written and published 66 books with over 600 research papers.

He can fluently speak eighteen languages which include; Fula, Mende, Krio, Temne, Kiswahili, Kono, Limba, Sherbro, Italian, Spanish, French, Swedish and German. He can also speak Arabic, Hieroglyphics and Hebrew.

Dr. Abdul Karin Bangura has travelled to nearly every country on the planet. He either goes to teach or present one of his 600 research papers. His linguistic power is also of great help to him as he can converse in nearly 18 languages, both local and international.

Academic Records

He holds five doctorate degrees. He have a PH.D. in Political Science from Howard University, a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University Of Columbus, a PH.D. in Mathematics from the University of Columbus, a PH.D. in Linguistics from University of Georgetown and a PH.D. in Development Economics from the University of Maryland.

Abdul also holds a BA in international Studies from American University, a M.A in international Studies from the same University, a M.A in Social Science from University of Stockholms and M.S in Linguistics from Georgetown University.

Dr. Abdul Karim Bangura is a Professor of Research Methodology and Political Science at Howard University, Special Envoy of the African Union Peace and Security Council, a Senior Mentor of the CODESRIA College of Mentors and a Researcher-in-Residence of Abrahamic Connections and Islamic Peace Studies at American University’s Center for Global Peace, an assistant professor of International Relations, the coordinator of the B.A. in International Studies–International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) focus, the coordinator of the Islamic Lecture Series, the coordinator of the National Conference on undergraduate Research (NCUR), and the faculty advisor of the American University Undergraduate Research Association (AUURA), the International Peace and Conflict Resolution Association (IPCRA), the Student Organization for African Studies (SOFAS), and the Muslim Student Association (MSA) at American University, the United Nations Ambassador of the Association of Third World Studies (ATWS), and the director of The African Institution in Washington, DC.

Between 1993 to 2000, Bangura taught Political Science and International Studies, served as Special Assistant to the President and Provost, and founded and directed The Center for Success at Bowie State University of the University of Maryland System.

He also has taught at Georgetown University, Howard University and Sojourner-Douglass College.
